I'm Andrew Bryant.
The distinguished-looking man over there is Doug Janz,
who's been chasing marmots for far longer than me. That's
why his hair is greyer...but give me time.
Our topic is
"hibernation ecology of wild and captive Vancouvers
Island marmots"
This is an
emergence tunnel on "P" Mtn. (8 May 2001). It's
what "Groundhog Day" looks like on Vancouver
Island. Yes, it's really that steep. It's why experienced
field people and helicopter pilots are vital.
