Using the DEM, I made elevation, slope, and aspect maps of the Nanaimo Lakes area. I also mapped cliffs.

Marmots like steep southeast-to-west facing slopes between 900 m and 1400 m elevation. They also like to lay on and burrow under the large boulders that slough off cliffs.
